Weekend MBA Program - Managerial Finance - Rolling Meadows Campus
The Weekend MBA Program is a rigorous, yet rewarding program designed for the self-directed manager with an interest in using technology to supplement traditional MBA coursework. The curriculum provides knowledge in teach of the major business functions along with specialized courses in Management and Finance. Through a technology enhanced educational format, the number of hours spent in class is reduced, making this program ideal for individuals with nontraditional work schedules. Classes meet 8:00 am to 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm on alternate Saturdays.

Cohort Concept Program
Students in the Rolling Meadows Weekend MBA Program benefit from the opportunity to share information with one another as well as the instructor. The cohort structure provides an environment where students are encouraged to network and discuss the practical application of the concepts taught in the classroom. Students in the program will start and finish the required courses as a group.


Class Meeting Format
The Rolling Meadows Weekend MBA Program will meet on alternate Saturdays, beginning at 8am and ending at 5pm. The courses are arranged in a lock-step format to ensure program completion in 24 months and facilitate professional networking.


Technology Requirements
Students need to have access to a PC or laptop with a CD-ROM drive, a broadband connection, and Microsoft Office Suite software.

Program Instruction Format
Program instruction will include in-class lectures and group activities as well as technology enhancements allowing students to supplement classroom activities from remote locations.

Students will utilize Blackboard and DePaul's Course OnLine tools.


What is Blackboard?
Blackboard is a course management system that creates an online learning environment by providing a central website with multiple, interactive features. These features include: course materials, e-mail, discussion boards, online quizzes, an online grade book, workgroup space, and document sharing. Blackboard is easy to use and can incorporate course materials in a variety of formats: PowerPoint presentations, Microsoft Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, video/audio clips as well as html documents.

Blackboard is one of a growing number of electronic course management systems that encourage interaction between students and faculty; students and students. Blackboard incorporates web pages, email, discussion boards, chat rooms, small group areas, online quizzes, an online grade book, a calendar, virtual groups, document sharing, and more to create an online learning environment.


What is Course OnLine?
DePaul's School of Computer Science, Telecommunications and Information Systems College developed Course OnLine. The Course OnLine system captures and rebroadcasts classroom activity. The system captures audio, video, PC screen, Whiteboard, and document camera. After class the recording is posted online for students to view. Faculty will direct students to the appropriate site to view the course.


Curriculum and Course Sequence
The program is designed to fit the educational needs of those with minimal undergraduate business education as well as those with a business related undergraduate education. Courses in calculus, statistics and computer skills are strongly recommended prior to starting the program.

What is Campus Connection?
The Campus Connection website https://campusconnect.depaul.edu is the entrance to DePaul academic, business and informational needs of the university. A variety of transactions can be accessed through Campus Connection such as: address update, course registration, grade posting, student class schedules, university news, etc.

to access Campus Connection, new students are issued a Campus Connection ID and password through the ID Services office http://is.depaul.edu/security/cards_passes/id_services.asp.

Advising

Course Registration
Students will be notified via email of access to telephone and Web registration on a quarterly basis. Typically registration occurs approximately six weeks prior to the start of the quarter.
