Melissa Markley joined DePaul’s business faculty in 2008. Her research interests focus on self-efficacy and consumer control of retail and service situations; decision processes and risk taking in consumption; goal orientation and attainment strategies; compulsive and impulsive behaviors; and social responsibility of firms and customers.

She has coauthored articles that have been published in the Journal of Marketing Education, Journal of Marketing Theory and Practice, Psychology & Marketing, Journal of Current Issues and Research in Advertising, and Journal of Business Research, among other journals.

Her industry experience includes work as a senior research analyst for The Martec Group, Inc., a global strategic marketing research firm.

Markley earned her PhD in Marketing from the University of Alabama, an MBA from Bradley University, an a BS in Psychology from The George Washington University.
